Episode #006 – The Lies I Used to Tell Myself About Fat Loss
If you feel like you already know what to do, but still aren’t seeing results, this episode is for you.
In this episode, I’m calling myself out. I share the exact lies I used to tell myself that kept me stuck for years. The ones that sounded true in the moment but were actually holding me back.
Once I stopped believing these lies and started focusing on simple, consistent actions, everything began to change. If you hear yourself in any of these, you’ll know exactly what needs to shift.
Key Themes & Moments
You Don’t Have a Knowledge Problem
You already know what to do. The issue isn’t information; it’s the stories you tell yourself that keep you from taking action.
Lie #1 – “I Just Need More Motivation”
Motivation is unreliable. It comes and goes.
The real progress happens on the days you don’t feel like it.
The shift: Build non-negotiables like train at the same time, hit your protein goals, and move daily.
Lie #2 – “I’ll Start Monday”
“Monday” becomes next week… then next month… then next year.
Waiting for the perfect start keeps you stuck.
The shift: Ask, “What can I do today?” One action creates momentum.
Lie #3 – “I Don’t Have Time”
This one feels real, but usually isn’t.
When I looked closer, I had time… I just wasn’t using it well.
The shift: Stop trying to find time, start owning your schedule. Create routines that support your goals.
Lie #4 – “I’ve Tried Everything”
This one hits hard… because it feels final.
But the truth? I hadn’t tried consistency.
I had tried starting strong… and falling off.
The shift: Simplify and stay consistent: Calorie awareness, high protein, lifting, daily movement, and structure.
The Real Turning Point
Progress doesn’t always show up right away.
Just because you can’t see it yet… doesn’t mean it’s not working.
Trusting the process and sticking with it changes everything.
